It is almost impossible for life to exist on Venus. The conditions there are hell for life. Still, studies on Venus continue. Scientists have their own logic behind this, their own questions, to which they are looking for answers. An American research has worked to give a new direction to the ideas about the possibilities of life on Venus. In this, scientists have found that the basic elements that make up life on Earth can survive stably in the toxic, acid cloud environment of Venus.
Till now even scientists themselves were not paying attention to the idea of existence of life on Venus. The surface temperature here is such that even lead can melt and there are clouds of sulfuric acid in the atmosphere. Scientists have believed for many years that it is impossible to have the kind of life we are familiar with on Venus. But new studies have created the possibility of life taking a different form here.
Although the temperature on the surface of Venus may be very high, the temperature in the clouds present there is moderate. Most organic matter can dissolve in these clouds of sulfuric acid within a few minutes. But the team from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) looked at other aspects of these facts. He focused on amino acids, the important small molecules that make proteins on Earth.

Maxwell Seager, a student at MIT’s Worcester Polytechnic Institute and co-author of the study, says that the four major elements for life are nucleic acid base, amino acid, fatty acid and carbohydrate. Some of these fatty acids form special elements in sulfuric acid, while the nucleic acid bases remain stable in this acid. Yes, carbohydrates definitely react a lot with this acid.
The researchers dissolved 19 types of amino acids in sulfuric acid at concentrations that matched the acids in the clouds of Venus, and surprisingly, these amino acids persisted in such a harsh environment for weeks. The surprising thing is that sulfuric acid is not a substance that dissolves everything.
Researchers clearly say that the study does not prove that there is life on Venus, but it is definitely a big step towards exploring the possibilities of life here. This study has shown that the chemistry of Venus is not as destructive as we assume. This will provide a direction for future research work. Future in-depth studies and information will provide more information in this direction.
